Description
The Main Pavilion is a three-storey insitu concrete structure and shading is provided above by a lightweight PTFE canopy structure. The roof structure is to be erected and supported on two central columns in section located at approximately ¼ elevation span points with horizontal strut booms running out front and back and diagonally to the end corners. The leading edge of the fabric scallops between these locating points off a catenary cable running between the booms. Between the mast the fabric will be lifted by a minimum of 3 full-up points supported on cables running between the masts.
Four main masts from which a cable system will be suspended support the Cricket Academy
fabric roof. This cable grid will be initial pre-stressed and once located to the anchorage points stabilise the masts.
This Atrium space forms the entrance between the buildings. The roof of the atrium is made up from pairs of 3.75m x 7.5m ETFE 3 compartment foil cushions units spanning across the space supported off lightweight tubular and rod trusses.
Description of the environmental conditions
The main pavilion/grandstand area will be open. The fabric roof will only offer rain shelter and shading.
The fabric roof of the Cricket Acadamy allows significant amount of light for training. The single layered fabric roof gives a semi-open internal environment.
The ETFE cushions offers natural lighting to this area.
