Description

Retractable roof built in 1977, converted to a permanent roof in the 90s.
Wind and rain destroyed the roof in 2012 when cables broke due to water accumulating in pockets between the suspension points.
The cables could not withstand this weight combined with the additional load from the wind. 7 of the 17 main cables broke.  
The roof was a few metres above the water, so there was never any danger to people below.
