Description

A fundamental part of the first phase of the renovation works of the ‘Visit Mallorca Estadi’ project regards the remodelling and construction of the new “SOL” stand, which incorporates a 6.000m² roof to accommodate 6.500 spectators, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the field. The supply and installation of the textile covering for the canopy over the eastern stand of the stadium has been carried out.
The canopy has overall dimensions of 48mx190m and is made up of 14 trusses 34m long that form 13 spans with 6 arches each. This metal structure forms the base for the textile roof made up of 43 units of tensioned and independent membranes of different dimensions, distributed in 13 membranes over arches, 28 membranes under trusses, and 2 lateral membranes.
The textile roof is made of polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides (ATLAS Architecture art. 760 type IV - TFL, Sattler PRO-TEX brand). The total membrane area is approx. 6.252m², with a projected area of 5.910m².
The ATLAS Type IV Sattler PRO-TEX membrane is considered to be the most adequate because it is a top of the range membrane and has a width of 2,60m allowing the welds to be equidistant and well distributed between the arches, following the same rhythm throughout the roof. The Type IV membrane has greater resistance to tearing, so it is well suited for the front part of the interior of the stadium. The finishing line of the membrane is more uniform, allowing a better cleaning. The color of the finishing is pure white, no yellow tones.
Each membrane is made in one single piece and is fixed to the metal substructure around its perimeter by means of a frame made of aluminum profile lacquered in white RAL 9010 and stainless-steel metal strips. Concerning the large tarps between trusses, the membrane is also fixed to the arches by means of an aluminum profile lacquered also in white RAL 9010. Subsequently, these are reinforced by galvanized steel cables, anchored at the ends of the metal structure.
