Description
This tensile membrane structure is currently the largest "monolithic" membrane roof in Turkey. The fabric roof covers an amphitheater with a 3000-person capacity and is supported by two 25-meter high truss masts. The conceptual design is directly related to the topographic specifications of the location. The membrane is tensioned by 18 jointed masts at the perimeter. Five of the peripheral masts had to be positioned in front of a building to provide sufficient strength. The masts are connected to the membrane above the roof of the building by steel cables with a 32-milimeter diameter. The two symmetrical sides of the membrane are connected to each other by steel plates. The top section of the membrane uses Ferrari 1302 s, while the rest utilizes Ferrari 1202 s. Approximately four kilometers of high frequency welding joins a total of 324 patterns. The monolithic fabric form was erected in one fell swoop.
