Description

The park where the tent was erected for the annual Horse Fair in Jerez. It was designed as an open concert hall during the Fair, but also as a place for yearly events.It covers 675 m2, with a rectangular plan of 45 m length and 15 m width. It is open on all sides except for one, where the stage is usually located.The structure was designed with 8 arches of 15 m diameter each, conformed by 273 mm diameter curved steel tubes.The membrane is fixed to the structure with aluminium rails, screwed to the steel tube, so the accuracy on the previous CAD design and the fabrication of all parts was very important.

Description of the environmental conditions

Jerez de la Frontera is one of the most meridional cities in Europe. So its climate is typically Mediterranean, but extremely hot on summer.The tent is located in a park. The most common trees are palm-trees, so there are few shade places.The main objective was the sun protection, providing a nice shaded place where the soft breeze crossing the tent increases the climatic comfort.Is is also important to remark that the geometry of the tent improves the acoustic behaviour for concerts and events.
