Description
To launch the new Mercedes “A” series the A-Motion Pavilion was erected in the summer of 1997 in 20 cities across Germany and Europe. The time allowed for erection and dismantling was only one day for each operation; this represented an enormous organizational effort and challenge to the design and detailing of the building which mainly consisted of the load-bearing structure itself. The pavilion consists of a floor assembly, a timber cube (edge length: 18m) and a fabric roof suspended inside the cube.
