Description

The Swiss Pavilion in Biel is a breathing exhibition hall made of silicon coated glass fabric with seams to breath.

An extraordinary pneumatic form is created by diagonal compression struts with steel arches and a circumferential cable.

The aim of the design was to achieve a visible deformation of the envelope. The movement of the envelope is formed by outside influences and the periodic changes of the inner pressure. It fluctuates during the so called breathing from 30Pa to 220Pa.
