Description
It was conceived as a visual effect for light and shadow for the main horse riding and excercise ring of Hacienda El baluarte.
The bulwark for it´s name in english, is one of the most important pure spanish horse breeder in the region.
crearquitectura proposed 4 key elements in the design:
1. Richness in color
2. An open structure in order to view the beautiful sky throughout most of the year
3. An arched design so at night direct light from beneath the membrane can be exploited
4. Visual impact
Description of the environmental conditions
Suchitepequez is one of the 22 departments of Guatemala. It is located in southwestern Guatemala on the Pacific coast and ranging up to the central highlands.
The climate of Suchitepequez is hot and tropical in the Pacific plains, gradually becoming more temperate as the elevation rises to the northeast.
the primary economic activity in this department is agriculture. One of the major crops is sugar cane, due to it´s form of operation, pollution due to burning of the fields is high during parts of the year.
